a day at the zoo

mom, dad, audie, and i took the kids to the zoo last week. it has been a long time since we had been there and the kids were so excited. they all saw their favorite animals, nadya loved the monkeys, christian loved all of them equally he said, and hannah loved the penguins. we went at just the right time to see some new babies. the baby giraffe was born just the week before and he was totally cute!!! we stood there forever watching him and his mama. there was also a new baby snow leopard and some other new babies in the small animal exhibits. i loved how all the habitats were updated and it looked a little more comfortable for the animals. the kids got to ride on the carousel, but we left chase and maddie in their strollers while the big kids rode on it. grandma and grandpa watched from the sideline and chase was freed from the captivity of his stroller and pushed his head into the fence and pointed and waved. i should have put him on one of the animals, but thought he would do better with grandpa, but i was wrong. he was totally left out! they all were worn out and had a fun time. thanks grandma and grandpa!!!
